Question about paint detailing

Hi there,

I'm in the process of repainting an old Nishiki frame. Does anyone have any tips how to apply the very thin line of paint that you find where the lug meets the tube? Fine paint brush by hand? It's just a rattlecan job but I wasn't able to mask it well enough to get a clean line.

thanks!

from framebuilding thread......information from Dr. Deltron, Painter Extraordinair

The easiest way to stripe is with an extra fine point paint pen, found at most art supply stores for less than $5. without clear over it, it may dull after awhile, but is esay to touch up.

How about take some pinstriping & put it where you want the paint, then put another pinstripe on both sides of the 1st, remove the middle one, paint the negative space w/ a fine brush, then remove the 2 other pinstripes.
