Schwinn Frame # HG026199 Identification.

Schwinn Frame # HG026199 Identification. This may help in answering my question.

Did the Schwinn factory build this as a lower end Paramount??
It is a brazed frame, not lugged.

I recently bought a Yellow 1970's Schwinn that has basically the same frame as a Varsity, Continental, etc.
However it has "SCHWINN PARAMOUNT" decals. It has chrome forks, aluminum "S" neck, those age old heavy steel cranks, all Schwinn components, and a Brooks saddle. Was this a factory job or not?
Here's a couple pics:

Bikes: old,older.and very old

sounds like a Super Sport.Schwinn built a lower grade cro-mo tubed line along with the Paramount. They did so from the beginning.Sometimes you see very old New Worlds with the three piece cranks. Also the original Town &Countrys(tandems) were Cro-Mo tubed.Last to be added to this line of bikes was the Cro-mo BMX line.
Yours would be a great bike(if a SS)It's easy to add a 3piece crank using a BMX BB adapter.

Absolutely not a Paramount, not a Paramount serial#, but, is a beautiful Super Sport. You did good! Enjoy it...
