Any Falcon bicycle information out there**********
Does any one have any sort of information on the 1980's vintage Falcon road bicycles. I have managed to find some information on the early models, from the 60's a lilttle bit from the 70's but nothing after that.
See the posting of the falcon a few weeks ago.

In the 80's Falcon was going gangbusters in England and probably europe, but they pretty much stopped selling in the US by the late 80's, I believe. Last place I ever saw them advertised was as frames-only in the BikeMor mail-order catalogues back in the late 80's (Bikemor was also selling Cinelli frames as I recall!). I corresponded with the Falcon company in the mid 90's (around 1996 I believe). Got some sales brochures and what-not, even some free decals for my restoration project (early 60's model). At that time they had a range of bikes from entry level to top of the line fully butted 531 frames. They had also acquired the Claude Butler name, and were putting out some pretty nice bikes in that range, maybe even better than the Falcon line, full campy record and what not. Wish I had kept those sales brochures now, with all the model designations and specifications and stuff. Oh well!

Falcon stuff
Thanks for the info. Contacted campy about the crank and they replied that the part was from the late 80's. Kind of difficult to date when little is known. What threw me off at first was that the lower crank lug was Cinelli, as the bar stem and bars. Mavic has the front gear changer, Shimano for the rear. Brakes are Shimano, and wheel rims Wolber. Other than that, a local bike mechanic remember the bikes from the mid 80's but nothing more that that. All the lug work is light and clean using 531 reynolds.
I have time off for the holidays and will bring the bike in for new rubber.
Thanks again for your information, it helps....

Unique Vintage Steel
There's been a few Falcons posted on the boards recently. Friend and fellow BF member Jsharr picked up a mid-late 80's model with 6speed 105 and Reynolds 501 tubing recently. When he picked it up I went searching for info on it and also turned up very very little.
