1986 Raleigh USA Competition & Super Course - need pictures/info
I'm looking for a bit of information regarding the '86 Raleigh USA models (a catalogue would be excellent), namely, the Super Course and Competition. (I already have the Grand Prix myself, hence why I don't need any info on it).
I mainly need to know the components the '86 Comp and SC were spec'ed with, and the '86 paint scheme for the Competition.
I know one of the fellows here on the forum owns a 1986 Super Course (purple/black) converted to a fixie, and I do have a photo of it saved. However, while it appears to have had the A300G brakeset when new (A300G levers), I don't want to take this as definite - same for what appears to be a Sakae crankset on it.
As for the '86 Competition, I have never seen one, heard of one, or found any information online about them, but common sense tells me they exist, due to the SC and GP being carried over to the '86 model year. Has anyone here ever seen one? I need to know the paint scheme and component mix.
Take care,
-Kurt

like we used to say
Info for an ancient thread. I had a 1986 Supercourse as a teenager. The colors were "iris" and "boysenberry" (2 tone purple with red accents) It had 531 main tubes, cyclone derailleurs, sakae crank and dia compe aero brakes. The Competition was pearl white and silver, (I don't remember the Raleighspeak for the colors on that one) and had full Shimano 600, with biopace rings. I believe the last year before SIS came out. It had an all-531 tube set.
Edit: of course, I'm speaking of the Raleigh USA bicycles.
