That's exactly what you’re saying. You're being tactful about it, but that's still what you're saying. By even bringing the subject up you have cast suspicion on the seller. In a previous post they did a phone search and discovered his name and address. Another forum member even bought parts from him. So far, no problems have arisen.

Misinformation is spread at the speed of sound online. You should be more careful before you speak.

Oh yes Sir Captain!

Look the ad is crappy, low feed back and sweet bikes seems suspect to me that's all. The item location on the previous auctions was listed as europe. Sorry I didn't know they changed the item location to match the buyer. Seems like you enjoy being a jackass so keep it up!

Look, I think we all appreciate that you're trying to look out for others, but it is often a better course of action to ask what others think, rather than to assert something is so when you merely have a suspicion. I don't see someone as being a "jackass" because they called you on jumping to an incorrect conclusion. Yeah, he could have been more tactful about it, but then again, he's merely responding in-kind.

Peace,

Z

update: ebay has yanked this item.

You're still not getting it. Look on the feedback page at the FROM column. Note that all but one of the feedbacks is from SELLERs, and the one seller whose auctions are still active in the system and clickable happens to be located in France. No "item locations have changed to match the buyer", the buyer is in Canada and the seller is in France. Simple as that.

I emailled the Mariposa/Bicycle Specialities eBay seller last night to let him know that his products might sell better if he double-listed it. Maybe he will change it, I think we all like to get good deals on eBay but these bikes are true collector's items and maybe someone who has been searching for such things will come across them easier if he changes the listing.

Like USAZorro said, you could have asked. You smeared the guy without asking any questions. Fortunatley, he is well known and everyone ignored your comments. Had he been new or an unknown, you could have done some real damage to his reputation.
