Who is Harry Butler?

i recently saw a hetchins magnum opus on ebay described as "magnum bogus" and learned that the frame was probably made by a "rougue" builder called Harry Butler.

https://www.bikecult.com/works/archive/hetchMB.html

and...

https://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.d...5501&rd=1&rd=1

I find it amazing that someone would go to the trouble to make such a copy - it seems like some serious skill would be involved. Does anyone know anything else or have any examples of other rougue frames made by other builders? Can anyone shed any light on who Harry Butler is?

Bikes: 1 trek, serotta, rih, de Reus, Pogliaghi and finally a Zieleman! and got a DeRosa

no idea who Harry Butler is, but his repro bike (as seen in first link) is pretty
interesting.
There was some discussion on CR list whether the Hetchins in question (on ebay) actually
was an original hetchins and was misidentified by the seller. I never did hear a final answer
on that one.

thanks for that. I don't know a whole lot about Hetchins
other than I like the look of them.

Nope, the Claud Butler marque was bought out by Holdsworthy and the only other "Butler" maker I have heard of is Geoffrey Butler, who it seems is likely to be not an individual but a "house brand" built by Ron Kitching's contract builder(s) for a shop. Maybe this "Harry" is another varient from the RonKit empire...but it certainly shows a LOT of intricate handwork, not the sort of frame that would come cheap whoever made it.
