a 65cm seems big even for someone 6'2". Also after reading through the auction, I'm wary of the shipping deal, and how much they'll try to charge you. try to get a quote from them before bidding.

Over all the bike, if it was local, I think I'd probably offer up to about $125 or so. Being that you'd have to ship it, and with that size frame, I don't think it will go for much.

Bikes: Chesini X-Uno, etc.....

That's a big one. In a place I've been in a few times lately there's been a 36" standover height Miyata with a small plastic headbadge and a really old logo sticker on the seat tube. It was less than $15 the last time I saw it. Not nearly as nice as the Univega in the auction though.

If the size is right and the price is reasonable then go for it. Looks like a nice bike.

65cm looks more suited to my grand nephew who is 6"11". Keep looking. Probably a 60cm would be about your size.

Bikes: Fuji Supreme; Kona Wo; Nashbar road frame custom build; Schwinn Varsity; Nishiki International; Schwinn Premis, Falcon Merckx, American Flyer muscle bike, Motobecane Mulekick

They list the standover height as 35.5. If you can almost straddle a yardstick with your shoes on, go for it.

Bikes: Still have a few left!

I agree with everyone else, probably to big for a comfortable fit. My son is 6' 1" & rides a 59 cm. But I'm a little guy, so what do I know? Best to do a test ride if possible, to see how it fits.

Bikes: '72 Bob Jackson; '82 Austro-Daimler Starleicht; '85 Scapin; '80 Peugeot PKN-10; '81 Trek 610; '87 Hunter Corsa; '72 Italvega and '75 Motobecane Grand Jubillee frames built into freewheel singlespeeds.

Everybody has the size issue nailed, I think; to add my bit, I'm a proportionately built 6'4", and 62-63 cm is usually about right. I can go down as far as 60cm by raising the bars and seat a bit. Keep in mind that this varies, though, in that the seat tube measurement isn't the only thing that governs fit, and the geometry of the bike has a huge impact.

At your height, I'd pass on a 65cm (and from the looks of the pictures, that's a legitimate measurement) unless you had a chance to ride it first. I cruise eBay looking for great deals in my size pretty regularly, and can tell you that for $75-$175 plus shipping (note: eBay is more expensive, by and large, than Craigslist, garage sales, or thrift stores ...) you can pick up a nice bike of a brand equivalent to Univega, like Nishiki, Centurion, Shogun, Fuji, a little more for Miyata, etc.

Good luck.

I had a 64cm that I sold to another BF member last year. I could barely fit on the bike with the seat all the way down. I'm 5'8"+ with 30" inseam. My youngest son, at the time 6' 2" was able to ride it but was too short. I sold the bike to a 6' 6" cyclist. To ride 65cm, you must have long legs, usually attached to a very tall person.

Bikes: have about 30 bikes right now

looks like it is set up nice. I have shimano 600 set on one of my bikes and like the way thay work. standover is 35 1/2 if your blue jeans have an inseam atleast that long it might work for you.find out shiping, some people realy stick it to to you on shiping. Shiping a bike does cost because of the box size but I looked at 1 auction and the seller wanted 115$ to ship from main to pennsylvania, actual chage is about 30$. If you can take your time yard sale season is coming up
