Just another Schwinn...
...Like none other, baby!

'49 Schwinn. Forgot what model it is (X-something or other). Modeled it after my '47 Henderson-badged Schwinn of the same model (shown in the background, the '49 is in the foreground):

It is the last Schwinn resto I do for a long time (unless another Paramount comes my way). This photo ought to give you an idea as to what I started with:

Take care,
-Kurt

This bike is just too cool. Great details everywhere! Love the badge and that winged chainguard sends it over the top. You resurrected a real beauty. It looks like labor and love in equally massive quantities.

I like the idea of getting my Corvette an the road... But I know I won't do as fine a job as you have. Maybe in round 2 in a few years I might do a more complete job... In that way your work has inspired me.
Great restoration!

Glad you folks like it. Not my own though - did it for a friend who wanted something similar to my '47, but in two-tone. We worked out the teal/white/gold scheme from a small AMT '58 Impala model kit that I was in the process of working on.
It wasn't a labor of love though - more a labor of getting it done to get it out of my hair. It's the last time I do a bike that requires 10 hours of fender work to get the dings out of it (not to mention a crapload of tar on its underside).
Ladies version of the DX? I always thought it was some X-34P something or other - at least, something approximating that was told to me by the fellows at the Schwinn Forums.
Oh, I revised my response to jab the Schwinn Forum, Little Darwin
