Where have the seatposts gone?

Do you know of any dealer who might have them in 26.4 and 27.2? I'd love to put one on my Raleigh Alyeska (which will probably end up being a Campagnolo/Suntour/Mafac - yes, I said Mafac - mix) to replace it's nicked-up 26.4 SR LaStinkum post. As my mom has taken to riding my '87 Basso, I'd like to have one of these posts that can be inserted into the frame at least an inch from the top - which is not possible with the Campag aero posts, and for that matter, the Campag post is too short for me.

Kurt - both aebike.com and airbomb.com has them in 27.2. Don't see them listed in the smaller diameter.

As mentioned earlier I won the auction on a Shimano 600 seatpost. NOS condition, and to much to my surprise and approval this particular one doesn't have the 'Shimano 600' running down the front side of the aero section. I will most likely put this post on the Serotta until I find the right Campagnolo post. The Aero section is 100mm to the saddle rails, and the Gazelle, wouldn't you know it, has about 95mm of post exposed. So the new post goes on the new bike.
I did, however, put my Flite saddle on it and test fit the post on the Gazelle just to see how it looks:

Now would anyone have guessed it was a Shimano part if I hadn't told you?

More Seatpost goodness! I stopped by my LBS today to kill a little time before my class and took a quick browse through a bin of take-off seatposts. I was looking more for any decently priced carbon posts for my modern bike, but a few silver posts caught my eye and I dug down and looked through them. This is a little gem I found:

Well 10 minutes and a little polish later and this is what we have...

Hey I've got one of those Campy's Cuda. It came with an 87 Waterford Paramount I got last year. I looked it up on my Campy catalog DVD and I think found it somewhere in the late 80s as part of a C-Record group (which would fit with the rest of the bike). But I couldn't quite get a totally positive ID, so I'm open to correction. Nice polish.

I double checked on that Campy seatpost, Cuda. The '89 catalog shows a Record post of that design, except the logo in the catalog version is horizontal -- plain lettering around the top. I bet they tweaked it a bit before or after.

Thanks for checking. It is a nice post and at least after one day of riding it doesn't seem to have allowed the saddle to slip any.

Cuda2K, you may want to have a look at this for informational purposed, that may be a very first generation post c-record record post you have? or last generation c-record???
