"...$275 was likely $175 more than it sold for new."
Nothing like having your instincts validated! Thanks for all the good info and - you're right - having patience is a must. The good thing is everytime I refresh CL there's another 20 entries posted. Hopefully the wait won't be too bad.

I have no bike at the moment and the waiting game is frustrating as I want to get out and ride!

Does anyone know if this bike is worth checking out? It doesn't seem like the poster knows too much about it. was hoping someone here could help.

I have found some amazing deals at garage sales. Now, I collect middleweights. But it's not always what they have in the laneway. Sometimes there are jewels hiding in the garage. Pick garage sales in better neighbourhoods. I'm not into the lightweights but I have seen some fancy looking bikes selling for $30-40 dollars. I don't think I've spent more than $20 for a middleweight. Some in never ridden condition. If your into the hunt it's worth a try. Who knows what else you might find. I've taken to collecting antique typewriters as well. Can find them for pittance. $3 for a 1953 Underwood newspaper edition(was a pain getting that one home on the bike). The deals are out there. You only pay too much if you are in too much of a rush. Hope you find your ride.

Still, if in decent shape it'll go pretty quick at $60.

............Now, the truth is I look at Craig's list 5 times a day and when I see something I want I call instantly. I learned this after missing a Peugeot PX-10 for $45. If you look at the amount of time some of us spend looking for bikes, the price doesn't seem quite so good

Also, checking CL only 5 times a day will put you mostly on the "miss" side of the ledger here. Competition is fierce, and the difference between hit or miss is counted in minutes on the good ones.

Now I see a Puegot PX-10 for $80 on CL. Anyone know if this is a good deal or not? I have a feeling I'm just getting too antsy.

That's no PX10, but a more base level model

Uo or AO8, with a replacement fork. Possible crash damage. Avoid.
