Nashbar is blowing out a mess of Sun rims cheap... not strictly C&V, yeah, but I figures the mods can move it, which save me the bother of visiting some other board...

Thanks for the tip; I'll check it out.

What's the best deal going on, quality-wise? It seems like the selection of 700c rims is pretty limited...the 27s would be worth looking into if I didn't have a set and a half of alloy rims sitting unused at the moment...

Thanks for the tip. I bought a couple of 40-hole rims, one 700c and one 27", to build up with old Sturmey Archer hubs. Ten bucks a pop is a heck of a deal.

It's an odd batch. Some higher hole counts, some good/decent 27s. Like Nlerner, I bought some forty holes; it's good for touring and S/A hubs, and I wanna hack an old Paris Sport this summer with S/A hubs and maybe nice fatty tires (32s or 35s). The 700c CR18s are a nice entry level rim, double walled and eyeletted, the only problem is the schraeder drilling on the ones they have, but that is easy to overcome.

They had their house brand twenty sevens for five bucks, but it looks like they're gone; you can thank me for that, I bought a pair...

I wish they had 36 hole silver with Presta drilling ...
