Garbage Cinelli

I was walking around the block Sunday and saw an old roadie frame out by the road. When I checked it out I noticed it seemed pretty light and and had a better looking crank. Anyway, I grabbed it and hauled it home. When I got a better look at it I noticed It was Cinelli frame with a Campy Crank! It also had Campy downtube shifters and front D. Sweet! I'll check it out to make sure the frame is straight, (it's ugly but seems otherwise sound). If everything checks out I guess I'll be building a vintage Italian roadie!

Awesome find...one thing you might want to do is make sure it wasn't stolen and stripped for parts, but if it all works out you win the "Garbage Find of the Decade" award!

I am a bit worried about that as the decals seem to be scraped. I guess I could get the serial number off the frame and have that run.

You could put a post on your CL too...if someone lost a Cinelli I'm sure they're looking for it.

If it was in the trash I wouldn't think it stolen, tho' maybe if the thief dumped it, but that dosen't make sense. Were it just by the side of the road then maybe.

Any who, congrats on the find, with hopes it's not hot.

It was out with the trash along with a few junk wheels and such. It pretty dirty and grimy, so it looks like it sat in the shed or something for awhile. I'll run the numbers to be safe, but I'm already thinking about wheels, components and such!!!

If it was with wheels I think your odds are much better. I've found a nice bike sans wheels beofre on the side of the road, and I later found out that it was stolen and the thief just grabbed the wheels and dumped the bike.

From: My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

Bikes: to many to list

I doubt if its stolen, if it were stolen for parts it wouldnt have the crank, shifters, and front D on her, not to mention it was in the trash along with other junk, I wouldnt post the serial # either, just post a "Retro Italian bike found" and ask for the serial # and color of the bike, if its a bike that someone bought/loved Im sure theyll be able to give you that info in a heartbeat! Im about sure its just someones trash good luck with her and be sure to post pics after its done
