Info on an old Nishiki
Hi,
I just bought a old nishiki just because colour of the frame will be a nice match with a pair of red rims that I have. I wonder if anyone has info on the bike. I haven't got it in my hands yet so I cannot provide that many details yet.
The frame should be aerodynamic (even though it doesn't look like it from the picture) and should be named "Aero 11". Not sure if that is the tubing or the frame or what. It says 600 on the crankarms i.e. shimano I guess and on the the rear derailleur it says cnclone M-11. I guess that the seller means cyclone M-11. The shifters are suntour. Any idea of what model of nishiki it can be and which year?
Cheers,
Claes

The top mounted, down tube shift levers were typically found in the early 1980s. The seat tube looks like it progresses from round to aero, and this too was typically seen in the early 1980s. However, the mix of a Shimano crankset with SunTour derailleurs is atypical. Based on the shifters, the derailleurs are probably original, with the crankset being a replacement. The Mark II version of the Cyclone came out in 1981, so presumibly it is no older than that.
