The B in the serial indicates 1988 or 1989. Anyone know if Cromor was (generally) available prior to '88? Looking through Lou Deeter's frame guide, I don't see a Cromor frame prior to that.

I ride it with Forte clips. I put the toe straps on for the photo occasion - still ride it daily but would like to ride graphite one day. A few weeks ago rode it in the Burnsville Metric - it felt at home in the rain and wind.

Beautiful Merckx with a bit of history; Karel Mintjens is one of Frans 'Swa' Mintjens' (a Merckx teammate) brothers. They started a now famous furniture factory bearing his name. The decals on your bike actually use that firm's logo's :

There is a Mintjens bikesfirm too (with 2 shops) but they use different logo's and don't appear to sell Merckx-bikes (anymore?). Don't know if it's the same family either...

I used to do business with the Mintjens family (Tania Mintjens) in the States and I grew up close to the factory in Belgium. This is how I got to meet Eddy Meckx in the States. Tania Mintjens is now president of the company. Does Eddy Merckx have a type of a fan club? I would like to send him these shots.
Cheers.
Merckx spent time taking my measeurments (height, arm, foot and leg sizes, etc) and then send the bike. He is nice guy and I never met him again.
