Payed 75 dollars for it?

Hello All

Was looking thur Craigslist today, and found a
Schwinn Prelude, for 100.00. Went to look at it
It's in good shape,paint a little rough.Looks
like someone touched it up with paint brush.
Has Sakae bars,Terry saddle, Dia-comp brakes,
700x23 tires,Shimado R536 pedals, if I read the number
right. Avenir cyclecomputer,105 brake levers,Profile
ti-aro-bar, took it off has nasty dayglow wrap on it.
Wieman rims. When I got there the rear tire was flat,
and the brake pads was half hanging off. I stood and
look at it for about 15 mins. I keep telling him, I might
take it. So he finally, said 75 dollars, just about broke
my arm, geting the money out. It will have to be painted
and the grease that is all over it, will have to be cleaned
off. Does anyone know where, decals for the bike, can be
brought? The number on the front badge is 1757?Will upload
pictures, if I can figure out, how to make them smaller.

For the pictures, use "image shack" and copy down the URL that says forum thumbnail.

I found a Prelude for $50 that was made 176 days before yours. They are really nice bikes. The headbadge number translates to 175th day of 1987. Mine is 3656 IIRC, 365th day of 1986. Here's hoping yours cleans up as well as mine has so far.,,,,BD

And yes!! Please post pics! Here's mine, before and during. Hopefully I can finish it tomorrow evening. I need some nice cables to put on it.

Going to post picture, this week-end. I can see from
your pictures, your is in better shape, than mine.
The paint on mine is dull, and looks, like someone
use a paint brush to touch up headtube, and around
the left front fork. It needs a good rub down with a cleaner
and polish. I'm going to ride it the rest of summer, than
near fall, will strip it down and re-paint it.And try to find
some decals to bring it back up to factory shape. Or
maybe try and find another one on Cragislist, and make a
fix-gear out of this one.

That puppy cleaned up real well. Nice looking, Bikedued. What color housing are you going with?

I also dig the Texas style fence ornaments you got going there!

I want to use charcoal gray metallic if the shop has it. If not, silver. Black would just be too
hard on the eyes with all the muted colors going on. A black seat and wrap is enough.,,,,BD

And Thanks
