Sekai 2000 Rebuild

Hey Guy's

New to the forum, not new to cycling. Doing a restore on an 83, 84 Sekai 2000 Super SX, Tange4 CroMo 25" frame, Tange Hi Ten Forks, Tange headset, Sugino Gt Crank, Suntour VgT R derailer, Suntour F derailer, Suntour Perfect 6 spd Freewheel cogged for touring, DiaComp Side pull brakes Araya 27 1 1/4 rim Suzue Hub rear, NoName POS 700c front, Sr Stem, Strong seat post.

Man its all there and in fairly good shape just needed a lot of degreasing and polishing on the components and a complete sand prime and repaint on the frame. I'm pretty good in the paint dept so no prob there, 2coats of primer 2 coats of enamel (dark Navy) 2 coats of clear. Rebuilt the BB (full of rust and goo) smooth as silk now, repacked the head all good.

Now to the questions and or delimas. Color scheme currently all Navy and Silver looks great, cant find a decent period replacement for the front wheel in Araya 27 1 1/4 with Suzue hub, not shure I want to run 27s any way, dont like schrader valves on Road Bikes. Looks like all 27 1 1/4 are drilled only for schrader valves. Have found a set of Araya 700c Bronze Hard Anodized on suzue hubs from a late 80s Centurion with a shimano mf-z012 freewheel, drilled for presta's. My DiaCompe brake pads will adjust to fit the 700c rims. The frame from the Centurion was a Tange 2.

Questions, on the 700c rims could the rear suzue hub shimano fw be replaced with a suntour fw cogged for workout. Would the spacing on the rear axel of the 700c fit my Tange 4. Should I stay with the 27 1 1/4. Would the Bronze rims screw up the asthetics.... Am I thinking about this Too Much.....

Well any input or thoughts regarding this Asthetic and Mechanical delima would be appreciated.

Ted M.
