Ok, Peugeot question #1362739..you get the idea.
I'm about to get down to some serious terd polishing.

I have (1) 70's UO-8 frameset(Cottered spindle), and (1) square taper Stronglight crankset. I have been searching for a replacement spindle with little luck, I know that a #5 spindle will solve the problem, but they seem to no longer exist. Do the Sugino BB's that have been on e-bay let you use a #3?? Is there another solution?? Is there a solution thats not going to cost me a fortune??

I'm building a $20 UO into a commuter/beater, so it's no restoration, but neither am I looking to do a hack job.

Thanks in advance!

Yes, I believe so. At least I hope so, because I just bought some for my PX-10 project...

The French-thread Edco cartridge bottom bracket from Velo Orange is a bit pricey for a beater, but it's an elegant solution that allows for some chainline adjustment.

That's the wrong page for French parts.

https://www.sheldonbrown.com/harris/f...ks.html#bottom

I've seen them on eBay for $16.95.
