Completed Projects Pt1

I've been hanging out in the Road Forum lately. Why? I have no idea. So much pomposity.....

Anyways I figure you guys might appreciate these:

The 1st 2 is of my, admittedly, modern LeMond though it is 853 steel. The 2nd pic shows how I set up to deal with the fact that I have very little use of my left hand and arm.

The 3rd is of my wife's Colnago. A "modernish" Master (Olympic I think) with Campy Record 8.

4-5 are of my 1980s Basso. S Record drivetrain but modern though older dual pivot Record brakes. The bars pic is in the same vein as the 2nd LeMond photo. Not a great pic but the brake coupler is obvious. Shifting is a mtn bike thumb shifter mounted vertically by the brake hood and a SunTour BarCon.

(Yes that is an aluminum fork and yes those decals on the toptube should be on the seattube I did paint it myself though)

To be continued......

Walter, welcome back. . .
very nice bikes, I seem to recall you mentioning the special set up
you use in the past, interesting how you've adapted the bike to it.

as for C&V, we aren't pompous we're cranky!

Good looking bikes. Nice work around to bring the controls to the right. I did have to look for a minute to see that kelly take off.

Welcome back to pomposity free C&V.

Aaah breathing the free air...

The Kelly does kind of blend into the background but it works well. While I don't badmouth new stuff I still think there's more right than wrong with friction shifting the FD.

I think roadies are such weenies because they are continuously running the risk of getting knocked down. That is expensive and it hurts, and eventually you never lose that little tight spot in the pit of your stomach. That and of course, genetically, roadies are weenies. Those are sweet rides.

you just gave me a great idea for mounting suntour ratcheting thumb shifters (the old MTB kind) to brake lever clamps! genius! Now I can fit them on drop bars.
