This is sad.

stolen 1915-1920 wards hawthorn $1000 reward
within last week this bike was taken from my property it is a prewar cruiser 1915-1920 wards hawthorn matching skiplink wheels, heart sprocket, New departure rear hub, it had white Felt "quik brick" tires
torsion bars on front forks, an old 3 spring seat with just seat pan (no cover)orange beat up fenders, an aftermarket rear dropstand kickstand and the most important part was it had a tank style tool box that almost looks home-made super rare imposible to find accesory
the frame has all straight bars painted primer brown/red if any thing very few of these bikes around if one pops up or is seen its mine and im offering $1000 for return of bike and info on who stole it
just return of bike will get half
this was my prized possesion and i want it back

Location: outside winters (near Sacramento)

Just to clarify, in case that statement seems ambiguous or confusing...

Winters is a town outside of Sacramento, California.
(A good friend of mine is married to the mayor there)

MasterShake, I'm guessing that you are keeping a close eye on Sac'to CraigsList.
(and the local bike racks, homeless camps, etc)

Defiantly, at least it's made easy since it's not a common sight.

WHAT? You don't think you could spot a 1915 bicycle from a mile away?

I'll be looking for it at the Mill Valley swap meet this Saturday, just in case.

The wife would be exstatic if I returned with MORE money than I left with.

Pawn shops too.

Also, check CL in other cities (do a google search like this: "insert name of bike here" craigslist)

Check scrap yards (metal recycling centers) as the price of scrap has gone up.

That would be the very worst outcome possible. I'm on the east coast but I will keep an eye out just in case. No charge

OO...just advice followed by a statement of fact. I have sent a few bent and broken frames to a recycler over the years, and the ones from last month were a good 14% over November's haul. There is a war going on.

I agree, that would be the worst thing that could happen.

Maybe he means that the bum that stole it, might be riding it to the scrap yard to recycle aluminum cans!

Bikes: Chesini X-Uno, etc.....

If I go to any of the Sacramento area flea markets this weekend I'll bring the description with me and keep an eye out for it.
