Brooks Touring Bags

Hey, I am looking for pictures of old Brooks saddle bags to make patterns from. I love Brooks current offering but would really like to see some of their classic designs. If anyone has any suggestions or pictures of bags they own I would be greatly appreciative if you could post them up

No one here has any vintage Brooks saddle bags?

What is the device hanging below the saddle rails? Looks to be specifically intended to support the leather bag and provide an anchor for the stabilizing strap at the front of the bag.

Is that a commercially available product? I could use something like that for my Glenbrook bags.

Alf,
Bagman racks....Wallbike carries them on this side of the pond. There may be other places but that is where I got mine.

Thankee Aaron, those look nice and they're out-of-stock of course.

However, looking closely at the pic the guy posted above, the one on the bike is not the same units that are shown as BAGMAN on the Wallingford site. Apparently there are others out there waiting to be bought or else the guy with the bike in the pic modified his with an additional bend or scratchbuilt.

In any event, thanks for pointing out the Bagmans for me.

I have an old chromed steel Brooks saddlebag support that clamps on to the seat stays and rests just above the rear fender. It's likely not kind to the paint, but it's on a bike with trashed paint anyway. It was an eBay find, and I've seen it come up regularly.

I couldn't find a pic of what I have, but it's a similar idea to the Silver Hupe from Rivendell: https://www.rivbike.com/webalog/baggage_racks/20136.html

Those are great looking. If you would PM me the approximate dimensions I will see what I can do. I am hoping that I can find a good collection of picture to do some e-measuring on and try and at least make a book of patterns of classic saddlebags (and maybe handlebar bags) to distribute.

Any other pictures or suggestions are always appreciated.

I'm glad I bumped this thread!

Who would have thought that bike luggage could be bike porn ?
