carradice zipped roll bag
Does anyone out there have one of these and if so what do you like and or dislike about it? Its 5'' in diameter and if I remember right about 12 inches long. If you have one did you find it large enough to pack a jacket and say a PBJ sandwich and a tube and repair kit? I like the look kind of retro so before I buy one I'd like to know any experiences with it. Thanks

I have one, it's great. Just the right size to carry tube, tools, wallet, phone and cram a light nylon jacket if needed. I have a Barley also and don't use it much, because the roll zip fit's most my needs.

sorry to bump this from 4 years ago -
i will be doing a century ride with a couple of my buddies next weekend. initially we were going to have a vehicle to drive down with our clothes to spend the weekend but it looks like its not going to happen anymore. i dont want to carry a backpack so im looking for a slim saddle/handlebar bag. the carradice zipped roll and the barley are the 2 bags im looking at. ive been trying to find reviews on google and it linked me here.
im looking for a bag big enough to carry the following -
- 1 shirt
- 1 jeans
- 1 underwear
- 1 pair of socks
- a pair of shoes
- deodorant
- travel soap/shampoo
- extra tubes
- small tools
- camera
do you think the zipped roll bag is big enough to accomodate this? my saddle is a san marco regal, would it be necessary to get saddle loops or can it hook up to the rails?
thanks!

The Zipped Roll won't hold all of that stuff.
I believe that my Barley would also be a tight fit for all of that. Maybe you could fit it all in the Barley if you lash your shoes to the outside of the bag.
You also may consider carrying lighter weight clothing. Jeans are very bulky... maybe you could take light weight khakis? They take up far less space than jeans.
And the Barley works best with bag loops on your saddle... but there are other mounting options out there. But they're not free.
