Newbie Dia-Compe Question (With Pic!)
I have these "gran aero compe" levers, and I LOVE them. I really want to use them but I can't find a way to make the cable to stay-put. What I mean is, when I pull the lever, the cable gets pulled inside the front of the lever body and doesn't "spring back" like it should. The brakes came with two little ferrules but they don't screw into the opening for the cable. Is there a part I need for this? Pic below!

Some are threaded, some aren't.
Pro Cycle here in Houston sold me the AGC's for my Prelude, with the inserts in place. There's also a set at the flea market dealer, that I may pick up soon. The inserts are missing, but the holes are threaded. The aforementioned dealer says he has them, so I will take a chance and get the FM set. I can ask about the non threaded type at Pro Cycle next time I stop by, if you want?,,,,BD

You could try a brake adjuster from just about any brake? Most are the same size/threads, unless
they're really cheap stuff. It might work, it might not though.... I can see how many of them Pro Cycle can spare, if you want? Loose screws might have them too.,,,,BD

I just went through the same thing with a pair of AGCs that have threads too. I just used a non-threaded cable housing ferrule that bulges out larger than the threaded hole. I believe they came off the back side of an old pair of non-aero brake levers. Anything that fits snug over the cable housing and is too large to pass through the threaded hole will work just fine.

you should also try messing with the brake itself, maybe the spring has too much or too little tension? I was having a similar problem, until I adjusted the tension.

The ones I have used, have an alloy housing ferrule that is rounded like a bullet. I may have a spare or two.
