SR SP-11 Eleven Pedals- Looking for some info (extra holes)

So I recently picked up a set of SR SP-11 Eleven pedals and they seem to be pretty nice. Look like copies of Lyotard Berthet pedals and the predecessor to the MKS GR-9

Here's my question. I know the holes in front are obviously for toe clips, but what are the set of holes for just in front of the flip tab? Anyone know (see attached)?

Only thing that I can think of is for some type of pedal reflector adaptor. Depending how old these pedals are (20 years ?), perhaps when the CPSC regulations came out, they had to rig something to attache a pedal reflector. Besides this, I have no idea what the holes are for.

Thanks for the bump East Hill, and the answer Top.

Oh, and the excellent guesswork jacksbike.

Wow, that is ugly. Should I go for it?

Too late! Bidding has ended at $23 and change for those pedals.

I think I would leave the reflectors off anyway, as they look rather awkward at best.

Glad to be of bump service .

i know, just kidding, think they look horrible, but I like the pedals. Taking them for a spin today to see if they measure up.

Hey there, I've been looking for a pair of SR SP 11.

do you still have those pedals? I bought a Trek 720 in 1985 and those were original equipment. Well a number of years ago the bike was stolen - major bummer!. 10 years later I decided to buy that bike again and have been slowly doing it. I found a great condition 720 with many original parts but the pedals were changed out and I would like to get the SR SP 11's back on it. Are you interested in selling them?

Thanks for your consideration,

Ben
