I'm confused help. Sorry this is so big I made the pictures smaller but they came out like this HMMMMMMM Its got Sprint derailleurs and the handlebars are upright. S/N is F461087

I concur with Bob. Any pre-1967 Varsity (downtube shifters, etc.) is a great find.

Funny thing is the headbadge is round I always thought they were the oval style if they were older. Did they do something weird in the 80's with the serial numbers for one year or so? Easthill I agree its really a mess but I just did a quick SOS routine on the rear fender and a couple of places in the rear rim and its really gonna clean up nice.

I can't see the pic where you guys are seeing downtube shifters?? All I see are extreme closeups of some parts on a bike. Please post a full size pic of the bike from the right side?,,,,BD

At least up to 1974, as my SS has a round badge. Not a button style like this one, but a lot of silver on it with a red center.,,,,BD
