In restoring my '50 Panther I am not sure if I want to remove the fender brackets while removing paint and cleaning up chrome and fixing couple little dings. If so I would need to replace the rivets. So far I only find the replacement screw rivets.
Are there regular fender rivets around that I am just not finding?
(Am I impatient a little - yes)
If I did remove the brackets what do some people think of a restored bike with the screw rivet replacements instead of the originals?
And maybe this is just an individual thing, does anyone restore their bikes without repainting? In other words leave all the scratches and chips and faded paint and partial decals alone.
Thanks for your thoughts.
