This discussion is the essence of what makes EBAY work. If there was no element of chance EBAY would be reduced to a fixed price market place like is found everywhere else on the net. Internet or live an auction has an elemnt of risk and oportunity which is attractive or scary, depending on your peerspective.

I admit that I am not your target market, since the only vintage Campagnolo I have ever owned came on a barn find I parted out last year... but as much as I hate to admit it, since I am turned off by the used car salesman type of hype from the other listing you referenced, they do seem to bring in higher bids.

Yup, that's him. Unfortunately, he's not exactly all that local to me. Possibly fortunate for him, as I'd probably be down there everyday. He's got some 3Rensho and Masi frames that would make you guys drool.
