help me id my bianchi

i just got an older bianchi frame, i believe its double butted steel, black metallic paint, with the numbers 477-72-8478 engraved on the bottom bracket. can anyone tell me what model/year this bike is?

we need pics, of course...but the limited came in black...

The width of the bottom bracket shell would help as well: 68mm for Japanese Bianchis, 70 for Italian.

For what it's worth, the serial number of my Bianchi wraps around the lug at the top of the seat tube.

yeah, the number on the seat tube seems to be the easier to identify one.

FWIW, my '83 Bianchi Nuovo Alloro is metallic black.

isn't 477-72-8478 a reasonable social security number? At least you can surmise that it was owned by a US citizen at some point.
