How much is it worth?
I would really like to know. The frame is made of Columbus tubing (doesn’t feel light like SL). Circa 1985? The hubs, seatpost, headset are campy, the shifters, cranks, derailleurs are Shimano 600, rims are Weinman, and brake levers and callipers are Royal Gran Compe... I want to know how much this bike is worth. The frame was made in Pistoia Italy and seems pretty rare. The serial number under BB is 50.
It definitely needs a complete overhaul and some touching up. It could be a nice project, but I'm wondering if it's really worth it. My co-worker wants to sell it to me. He doesn't remember exactly which shop he purchased the frameset from, but he got it from a "high end" bike shop in Chicago in 1987. He could probably get more for parts now as he added the parts as he went along. By the time the bike was complete, he outgrew it! What of the frame? Has anyone ever heard of a Coste? (The same thing is written on this site along with a series of photos. click next to see other shots.) http://web.mac.com/l.train/iWeb/Site...E17821D82.html |
50 is probably the size CTC, probably worth more apart than whole.

Seems pretty decent, why can't we see the whole Columbus tubing decal? Does it say Aelle or TreTubi or what? I've never seen this make before, but should be a good rider even if it's not the absolute top tier. Worth it? Depends on what he's asking and your location...if it fits I'd definitely bargain for it, try for $300.
