I don't see this working for a top tube. The thickness/metal is different on a bike than a door panel.

I know several of those guys. I'll try to ask this next week at work. To get to it they would have to drill a hole somewhere in the frame to get the tools into the tube to pop it. May not be worth the effort...but I'll ask for ya. I agree the steel tubing is probably too hard for it to work.

Seems like it could only reduce the strength of the tube.

gwhunter,

BTW I did talk to a couple of dent repair guys. None of them thought it would be possible to fix a dent in a bike frame. They did mention that if you really want to remove the dent to take it to a body shop and have them bondo and then re-paint it...

Hope that helps.

From: My response would have been something along the lines of: "Does your bike have computer controlled suspension? Then shut your piehole, this baby is from the future!"

Bikes: to many to list

Ive heard it could be done with no problem, its done with a block of wood that has a hole the same diameter as the tops tube drilled through it, then the block is cut in half, that leaves you with two blocks of wood with a half circle in each, then they place some kind of "material" inside the half circles as a buffer? (so they dont scratch the paint?) they take the two halves and place them on the tube with a clamp, then they slowly turn the frame around over the dent, tighten the clamp and repeat, till the dent is gone, or at least almost gone, I might be a little off on the description, but thats basically it
