Bridgestone 550
1987 or '88

My Frejus ain't finished yet ..have to buy more felt polishing tips, cables, and the freewheel prongs are partially stripped so that has lead me to put it off for a while
Might have to alter another freewheel tool to fit
What would you do? It may be just fine but I don't have the tool yet to try.

I need another road bike. I need another one, anyway. Frej won't be seeng rainy days
Right now I kick ass on a 37 lb mongoose syncome that I've let go to hell since winter. Never should have bought that bike.

Anyway, guy here is selling a 550 56cm for $200 ..up from $150 the day before. lol Probably about right.

Looks to have been well taken care of and ready to ride home. Aero bar/bullhorn equipped.
On Sheldon's site somewhere was an article on 1985 entry level racers
Bianchi Stelvio
Miyata 912
Bridgestone 600
Mongoose Mongusta
Nashbar Sport

They weren't too pleased with the 600. -which was cheaper than most of the others at like $380
In 1987 there were only the 650 and 550 etc models and it seems the 500 was more Tri than Road?

I don't really care about that. I just thought it was odd given all the credit Bridgestone garners and yet a 600 -which couldn't have too far down the list- only did as well as some Nashbar bicycle.
Surely this bike will be better than my Mongoose Nomegusta but what's up with that rating?

What is an entry level racer exactly?
Why are these "hundreds" series bikes lighter in weight in later years (1988-)than the RB3's and 4's which
I assume
were the entry level racers of those years? ..making the "hundreds" series of bikes more of a sport bike meant for rides of up to 25 or 50 miles.

Was there some crossover?

I'll attach a picture

From: Take a deep breath, and ask--What would Sheldon do?

Bikes: Nishiki Nut! International, Pro, Olympic 12, Sport mixte, and others too numerous to mention.

Bizarre timing...I was just thinking about whether or not you'd finished the Frejus. And then this thread came up.
