Sealing chrome damage

I was letting my front derailleur soak and when I took it out, I noticed 2 spots with rust on the inside where the chroming had rubbed off. What's the best way to seal this, or should I not worry about it?

Thanks.

If you keep your bike clean and with a film of oil on the working parts you shouldn't have any problems. I'm a big fan of the wipe-over-with-an-oily-rag method of preservation with my old bikes and so far it seems to be working. Where I live is well known for sudden hard downpours of rain and it's been a wet Winter. Despite getting soaked from time to time my bikes are staying nice and not rusting.

I often spray rusted chrome parts (after cleaning the rust off w/ deck bleach, naval jelly, etc) with clear rattlecan like Krylon or Rustoleum. A thin coat works. With small parts I'll generally bake them in my oven @ 225*F for about 20 minutes.
