The placement of the "inoxydable" decal bothers me. Weren't they normally placed below the 531 decal? That one is so high on the seat tube that there is no room for the 531 decal above it.

actually the bike will be for sale before long, that is the reason i'm trying to get the year down.it is in great shape with some scratches.i have been riding my mountain bike more over the last 10 years and this one is getting neglected. i spent 2 hours polishing the mavic rims the other day and found a nice shiny surface under the 30+year old grime. I will get some better pictures on as soon as my camera returns .if anyone is interested and would like a look i live near memphis tennessee. by the way i wouldn't know a px-8 from a px-10 , like i said at the beginning of the forum my wife bought this for my b-day years ago,yes i have ridden it quite a bit and it is a great bike, but it has also sat unused for years on end. the original rims w/sew up tires were troublesome for me so i bought a nice set of rigida rims (twin or triple wall?)w/suntour cyclone 7000 hubs so i could use regular tubes that the local shop recomended ($400.00). and yes i still have the original rims w/hubs. i don't mean to put this for sale in the wrong thread ,like i said i am just trying to get a bit of information on the bike for now.-thanks

The placement looks correct. A pic from my 1970 reference manual:

Note that there is no Reynolds decal on the fork.....

You can always buy imaging software, but this way is free and fairly easy.
Now to your bike....that is one nice looking peugeot. Sorry, but I'm no where near nothing enough to tell you anything regarding that bike,, I'm sure others will chime in shortly and inform you/us.
