Over the years I've had a number of 80's Fuji bikes. Great value in these well built and good looking bikes.

Can't post pics as I am a noob.
I picked up a Fuji 12 speed at a flea market for $10. Seller said he bought it new in mid-late 80's. It's a little scratched up and grimy, but rides great and is road-ready. Here are it's specs: Serial number: F6606520 Dia-Compe brakes and levers Suntour LaPree hubs, derailleurs, shift levers SP-KC seat post I'm curious about the year/model number, and if any of the parts I've listed are original Thanks! OP's Album Welcome to the forum. I would suggest that the serial number is: FE606520. As stated earlier the bicycle is a 1986 League. From the catalogue it seems that most of the parts are original. |

I believe previous owner had replaced drivetrain. I would like to know the year and original components. Thank you |
@robcor2, from the serial number I believe the frame was made in 1991 September.
From the 1991 Catalogue the Roubaix frame was made with Ishiwata tubing. So my guess is that this is a 1992 model. I do not know the component specifications for the 1992 Roubaix. |
Here is a Fuji , I have, model unknown. Using TMars code breaker, I believe it to be a 1980 (KE002569). I can not seem to match it up to any model from the 1980 catalog. This is the largest frame bike , I have ever seen. It is 27 1/4", with a stand over height of 37 1/4" . If anyone can help me identify the model, I would appreciate it. I believe, a lot, or all of the components have been upgraded and not original. Here is a components list: Sunshine 5345 alloy hubs, Ukai alloy 27 x 1 1/4" rims, Suntour cable clamps, Shimano Deore XT rear derailleur, Shimano Ultegra front derailleur, Shimano Sora crankset, Dia Compe drop forged center pull brakes, Kalloy UNO UL system stem, 7075 Lite dbl butted bars, Suntour/Raleigh bar end shifters. It is a 21 speed. Besides the pictures, there are no other markings on the bike. (Cross Posted) Thank you

Got a fairly decent condition Fuji Sagres yesterday at a garage sale (newbie so no pic yet) for $15.
S/N - F L 5 0 7 6 7 2 All components seem to be original (Dia-Compe, Sanshin, Sugino, SunTour, etc.)... looking at online brochure, color is shown as Diamond Blue. Almost forgot to add pic of S/N to this thread, after uploading other pics in the "All Things FUJI" thread... https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/bikefor...f48efcd4df.jpg |
I probably should have posted it in this thread, but I made a post in the Asian serial numbers thread. It has some pictures, though not of the stamping. I'm pretty sure I have it right though.
I'm trying to confirm the date on my recently acquired Fuji Ace. I believe it is an '88-89, but the serial number is F9033524. I do see that this thread has some history of other late '80s models having a similar numbering (without a 2nd alphabetical letter in it), so I don't think this disqualifies it from being an '88-89. Visually it matches those years compared to the '90 model shown in the catalog. I figure either the numbering is kind of a mishmash for post '87? Or they forgot to stamp the month? Still that would leave the "0" as an extra...? |

Based on the 27 inch frame this may have been a 1980 Fuji Royale or Sport 10. The Fuji Royale had chrome fork ends. |
