Paint scheme suggestions needed

I just got my Pinarello frame in yesterday. The Roadie forum seems to think the paint is just fine and to not change it but it's not original, it's scratched up and chipping, and somebody did some crude handpainting that has just go to go.

I bought a set of Pinarello Treviso decals in black lettering but can get a set in white lettering if the paint scheme calls for it.

I like color. My orbea is this:

On the other hand, I like a nice traditional paint job, too. My San Jose, for example.

I do not like the crazy paint jobs of the 80's or whatever the heck Colnago is doing these days to their frames. My favorite Colnago frame pic:

Being an Italian bike, the colors red, white and green would seem obvious. I think I'd like the lugs highlighted in some way. Not outlined but a different color than the frame. With the details/pantographs a different color than the lugs. Sounds confusing to me too. I'm sure I'd know what I want if I could see a picture of it.

Any suggestions?

I like the original, quite unusual for a Pinarello. The down tube decal does not look original and even the seat tube might not be but it is close. I like "patina'd" bikes, I would clean and wax it, build it with a new gruppo and ride it all day long.

Just realized that the colour accents are the German Flag colors, did you get the bike from Germany?

Bikes: Crap. The box is not big enough...

paint is pretty good, and white is the easiest color in the world to touch up.

If it were mine, I would not repaint it.

Strip the red from the rear brake bridge, touch up the white and ride. Color? Use colored housings and bar tape. This frame is going Bob Barker, right?

Why does everybody love the white paint so much? I think it would be asking for trouble to paint an Italian bike with the Euskaltel-Euskadie paint scheme.

I guess I will contact some professional painters to see what ideas they may have. If they say stay with the white then white it will be. It'll match the Raleigh Sprite.

I think everyone likes the white so much cause of the chrome stays and fork. Nothing works quite as well together, search around for a photo of cudak888's raleigh competition for example!

If you really wanna repaint it though I'd have to say purple or orange (metallic on both counts), but you can't paint over the chrome of course!

Just anything_but_Red, eek!.

Bikes: Mostly English - predominantly Raleighs

My suggestion: White head tube, green head lugs, red top and down tubes, white seat tube, green stays with chromed ends.
