Was it an NR, a Campione?
You can see part of the evil headtube crack in these shots..

Bikes: 1959 Capo Modell Campagnolo; 1960 Capo Sieger (2); 1962 Carlton Franco Suisse; 1970 Peugeot UO-8; 1982 Bianchi Campione d'Italia; 1988 Schwinn Project KOM-10;
That looks very similar to my charcoal-color Bianchi, but mine lacks mudguard eyelets and has a bit of chrome onf the fork crown and B pantographing at the tops of the seat stays. Mine also has under-the-BB gear cable routing and came with a PAT 80 Campagnolo NR rear derailleur and Ofmega SX cranks, rather than Bianchi-labeled Ofmegas. My S/N is 1.M9914. I have been told mine is a 1981 Cam. d'Italia, but I am not positive about the identification. Mine came with Modolo Speedy brakes and Campagnolo Gran Sport pedals, as well.

I'm thinking it's a Nuovo Racing. lack of chrome, and more importantly the eyelets. I'm also calling it an 83 as a shot in the dark. it looks a lot like mine and by john e's estimate, which I believe is accurate, my M3 serial number makes it an 83. I refer to mine as the Campione d'Sonoma
