Motobecane Mirage
I just bought an early 80s Motobecane Mirage with the understanding that it is second to the bottom of the Motobecane range. It has 2040 lugged steel frame; any guess as to its weight (56cm) ? Will it have suntour derailleurs or sachs-huret? 700 wheels?

I just picked up a Super Mirage myself. A 53cm mixte though. Drivetrain seems to be Suntour (can't tell on the freewheel, it was too rusted). I'm guessing high 20's on weight.

Depends on the actual year. I've seen Mirage with SunTour VGT, SunTour AR, Huret Eco and Huret Rival. 2040 tubing goes at least as far back as 1978, so it could be slightly older than estimated. Wheels are almost certainly 27" as these were still being spec'd as late as 1984. Typically, the Mirage was 2nd from the bottom of the line and weight was usually about 28 lbs, but agin, it will alll depend on the exact year. And this all assumes it actually a Mirage and not one of the variations, such as a Super Mirage or Mirage Sport.
