Japenese Mystery Bike
Hey all, today I stumbled upon a bicycle that I cannot find any information about at all, I was wondering if anyone might know something more about it.
The bike is branded "Monte Carlo" (written verticaly on the seat tube, also on the downtube and with a head bagdge) and the model is "Pro" - it has a "Made in Japan" sticker at the very base of the seat tube, it is of lugged construction of some fairly lightweight steel. The components are as follows:
Shifters: Suntour Bar Ends
Rear Der: Suntour V-Luxe
Front Der: Suntour Comp V
Crank: Sugino
Brake Levers: Dia Compe
Brakes: Dia Compe Center Pull Calipers
I have scoured in the web in search of more information on this bike, but to no avail. I am suspicious that it might be an older rebadged fuji, but really I ain't got anything else.
Help, Anybody? Anybody?

Never heard of the brand but it sounds like a bike from the early 70's. During that time (bike boom years 1972 to 1973) there were lots of odd and no-name bikes imported from Japan. Sounds halfway decent from your parts description.

I've never heard of this brand either, though per the previous poster, it sounds decent on the basis of the components, Any sign of a tubing decal? I might be able to identify the source via the serial number. I will definitely be able to tell you if it is a re-branded Fuji.
+1 on Bigwoo's request for pictures and if there is no tubing decal, the seat post diameter.

Hey all I'm working on getting pictures, for the moment though I did find a serial number on the non drive side of the seat tube down towards the bottom bracket it reads "IE33863", I also saw that the dropouts are stamped not forged.

You can get a hint of the frame quality from the Sugino crankset -- the Mighty Compe was reserved for mid-to-high end bikes, whereas the Maxy graced low-to-mid bikes, one step above those with cottered cranks.

The serial number is one character too short to be a re-branded Fuji .
