Hey,
I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the wrong thread, but here goes. I had done the sti conversion with a beat up 80's Pinarello. This was a great riding bike until I noticed that the drive-side dropout was cracked through its seat-stay tab. Did I cause this by not permanently setting the spacing to 130mm? This was a co-op find and I can't rule out some previous damage either.

Gouge Away
Took her out today for a 30 mile shake out ride after paint and rebuild with a 10 speed drivetrain. Rode like a gem and definitely a keeper.

Here's my latest. It's an '86, so only a few years off from the first gen Ergos it is being fitted with here:

It awaits a pair of recessed Super Record brakes that are coming from a member. I have no recessed brakes to even try it out with - they are a newfangled technology for me.

Probably the only thing i wasn't overly thrilled with out of the gate, but it shifts great. Replacements are on the list for the next time it gets some time in the stand.

i used to lust for a cinelli supercorsa frame so bad, then it lost it's effect on me, but now after seeing your bike it makes me want one again.

They are Ortliebs. I borrowed them from a friend, my girlfriend owns a pair as well. We used them on a very, very rainy Maine tour and they were great. I'm not sure I'd use them every day or for commuting. The rolltop isn't the fastest to open/close and is overkill for 95% of trips. But for touring, where you have no choice about the weather and wet gear means days of misery, there's no better choice. Very high quality stuff.

I have an older set of Ortliebs in Bayern that I'll be using later this summer on our tour, but I really like the size of yours.
I'll consider them.
In addition, I have an Ortlieb Messenger Backpack that I drag everywhere and it has the same funky roll top design with an oversized velcro fastener.
Function is excellent.
Everything stays totally dry inside, no matter the downpour.

Pictures of my old 1988 Raleigh 531c. I bought this frame new in Glasgow with my first month's wages. I built it up with Campagnolo Athena and then upgraded he running gear to Chorus in 1992. Levers are record, brake calipers, seat post and headset are still Athena though. I rode it at the weekend. Still smooth although it is now promised to a local bike shop to go on display as a bit of retro memorabilia.
