Killah bike. Nice build, neat frame. Welcome to the forum.
Nice touches with the attention to detail, Flite saddle, classic bars and stem. Great parallel tubing with the triple triangle.
Clean, meant for business, good components, and half the cost of a comparable new bike, will outlast you and I.
Of course, now that you've made your debut, your sophomore project will be graded on a 5-point scale.

1-Dropout spacing from 126 to 130 was not an issue, but with chrome-under-paint, sometimes the paint decides to flake off and leave.
2-Changing from nutted calipers to modern calipers compatible with the Ergo lever pull, drilled one hole (back of fork).
3-Cable routing-DT cable stops had to be on a strap (Campy) because the previous DT shifters were piggy-backs.
Then I had to trim ferrules to fit in the DT stops. I didn't want the modern DT cable stops. The old straps are more elegant/bling.
4-Cable routing-BB shell area 1-Luckily, the RD cable had it's stop above the R chain stay, allowing a clamp-on double cable guide.
4-Cable routing-BB shell area 2-The FD cable guide has to get the cable rearward and around that ST, so it doesn't rub. Placement was critical.
5-FD cable stop if you don't use a newer FD. I used a stainless braided piece between the cable guide and the OEM FD.
6-Wrapping two cable housings to each side of Cinelli 64-42 bars. It can look a little bulky depending on the wrap you use.
It came out very well, for which I was grateful to Centurion (it could have been much worse).
Still, when I got a '79 from cb400bill, I kept it OEM.
Would I do it again? Yes, with the right bike, possibly my near-mint Lotu Classique.
(My wife says "but then it wouldn't be Classique...."... like I asked her.)

They'd probably kick me off the forum for it.

Thanks for the info. I'm collecting parts for my first brifter conversion project (my first bike with indexed shifting, actually). Is there some reason why you can't just route the cable through the braze-on guide above the shell and through the stop above the chainstay? The Mercian I'm picking up is set up that way.

Thanks for the info. I'm collecting parts for my first brifter conversion project (my first bike with indexed shifting, actually). Is there some reason why you can't just route the cable through the braze-on guide above the shell and through the stop above the chainstay? The Mercian I'm picking up is set up that way.

Ciocc with 10spd Campy Veloce. Could do the downtube shifter thing. Quill stem would have been nice, but I like the larger bar. Took pains to keep everything alloy silver though, even down to the box-section rims.

Hi guys/girls,
Here is one of my 'modernised' steel bikes.
It's a '85 Colnago Master in (I'm told) rare, pearl celeste paint with original decals.
I bought the frameset from Italy, and then built it up with 9-speed Campy Record. The frame is (quite obviously, hence the hectic saddle - bar drop) a couple of sizes too small for me, but I had to have it.
Although I don't really ride her, she is still one of my favourites for sure.

We don't have the safest roads around here and she really is such a beaut that I do treat her as art, mostly for display. Unfortunately amazing bikes are really hard to come by here in South Africa, so those of us that have them need to really take care of them.
I have 3 classics that I do ride very regularly, so I don't feel guilty putting my favourites on display only.
