Fuji Gran Tourer

You guys are a bad influence on me.

I have been around here for a while and posting a bit, too. But, I don't own a vintage or classic bike. I ride a newer Cannondale Synapse and still have my 93 Raleigh hybrid. I do however jones for an old bike like my long gone 70's Sekine 10 speed.

Today I stopped in my independent LBS and he had just taken in on consignment a brand new and unridden Fuji Gran Tourer. I bought it.

East Hill I have no pics yet as I will pick it up after work on Friday.

It is black, 12 speed, has Suntour VGT Luxe and Compe V derailers, Dia Comp center pull brakes. It has a stock Fuji seat. I even get all the hang tags and the owners manual and assembly book.

PLEASE post it with the serial numbers on the Fuji, serial number database that T-Mar started. Pix would help.
Thanks

Bikes: 70 Atala Record Proffesional, 00 Lemond, 08 Kestrel Evoke, 96 Colnago Master Olympic, 01 Colnago Ovalmaster, 76 Raleigh Gran Sport, 03 Fuji World, 86 Paramount, 90 Miyata CF, 09 Ritchey Breakaway CX, Bianchi Trofeo, 12 OutRiderUSA HyperLite

My Raleigh Gran Sport had a Suntour VGT Luxe rear dérailleur that worked very well. I have the original specification sheet. You can remove the chain without breaking it first.
We need some good jpegs - and.... what type of deal did you get?

I picked it up for $100 US. LBS price included all the setup on it.

Pics will follow.

Great score! She should ride nice - road bikes are very different from hybrids. Watch the tires, the look darkened/brittle. Peformancebike has some GT2 on sale cheap.

The stem shifters look like Suntour power ratcheting shifters - classy. I'd be tempted to change out for some bar end shifters.
I like Fuji bikes - I recently sold this S-12

and my Fuji World is my base commuter [now has rear fender, rack, lighting system, air horn, panniers]:

Last night I ordered some of those tires. Thanks.

I plan to leave it pretty much as is. My Cannondale Synapse is my daily road bike. This one is for occasional use.
