I remember quite some time back seeing this "during", and again today when I checked out the "Where did you ride today?" thread, but I was most happy to stumble upon it yet again in this thread. Thanks for providing the close-up pics of the frame after paint but before assembly - a beautiful job, and very pretty color, too

Compared to you guys, it's a pretty "sympathetic" restoration. But I was happy with it.

Afterer (new owner wanted a new fork, I suggested travel agents):

Traded for a felt F35 with a broken frame and nearly immactulate parts for a bike I had $200 and some elbow grease in. He bought the fork and TAs. He's happy, I'm happy. Plus I have Dura ace and a pair of Ksyrium Elites. Yay craigslist!

Bicycle Repair Man !!!
Had planned on doing some epic riding today on my newly re-fitted Proctor.
Before... as I received it.

After...

But it was a rainy day and decided it was high time I tidied up my desk which is a catch all for pretty much everything.

Bagged and tagged a bunch of those orphaned parts...

I should have taken a picture of my old Hozan truing stand before I took it apart, de gunked it and then put it all back together with fresh lube and grease... it is actually blue and not dirt coloured.

Exactly! When I saw that Trek, I thought "Hmmm, I think there is a bike under all that grease and grime."

Owner decided to paint it white without removing any components...

NOT a Fuji America! It Is a Fuji Monterey
At sometime in the bike's history, someone put a Fuji America decal on the top tube. I didn't remove it. It is a 1981 Fuji Monterey! I gave it some refinements. Overall, I'm very pleased.

I know it isn't much but I learned so much from this bike. I built a fixed gear. Stripped parts. Changed a rim & tire. New handlebars & shortened grips. Rebuilt a pedal. Got a new chain & altered it myself. Purchased a new seatpost from just a measurement since it didn't have one. Reattached a decal.

Thank you
Which is why Grady and I are both having the devil of a time locating those simple little quick-release buttons on their own. I don't know if Campy ever supplied them as spare parts on their own. It appears they may have figured most people would just buy new levers and chuck out the old.
The buttons are spring loaded - every one I've ever taken out with crash-damage has been seized.

Most people would have just written those off.
