Original fuji seat from mid 80s. Black with "FUJI" in white on the back. It has just a tiny bit of damage on the bottom side part. If interested I'd send you a pic so you know if it will work for your restoration project. Cost of shipping.

Free to good home...
Taken Pair of Shimano BL-L331 aero brake levers in working condition (fair cosmetically), with brand new rubber hood grips. Taken Pair of the flexible plastic channel for smoothing out the handlebar tape over brake cable housing (no idea what this stuff is actually called, but hopefully you know what I mean!) Taken Biopace chain rings, 52/42. Will get a picture later and email to anyone who PMs. Standard airmail postage from Hong Kong. |
Free to a good (or not so good, I don't care) home:
1991ish Schwinn Neu Citi step through frameset. Burgundy. 19 inches or so. Rear Canti brake bosses (on the chainstays if I remember correctly), front centerpull brake but will take a sidepull as well. Takes 26 inch MTB tires and a world of clearance to go as fat as you want or add fenders racks and all that jazz. Frame in decent condition, the usual nicks and scratches, but ok as far as rust is concerned. These bikes left the factory with MTB bars and brake levers, thumb shift shifters, shifting the extremely high end Shimano Tourney derailleurs on a 2x5 configuration. I suspect that the spacing is 120mm, but not sure. That and the lack of braze ons will make it a prime candidate for a FG/SS or an SA 3sp build to get around town or campus on the cheap. Bad news: a. it takes an Ashtabula crank (so you'd need an adapter) and b. the original one does not want to come out (not that bad, just the pedal is stuck to the arm and it will take a vice and a longer wrench and patience than I have to get it out.) I would hate to ship this hi-tensile wonder (and you would hate to pay for shipping.) If anyone around here wants it, it's yours. Let me know |
I have up for grabs a nearly new 20 tooth sprocket for internal hub (S-A and shimano). I swapped it out to a 24, so have no need for the 20. I also have the original 17 tooth sprocket that came on my Raleigh that I have no use for-- if any one wants to be a speed demon, you can have it. |

I have a good condition 27" (68cm) Kabuki road frame free for local pick up in the Cleveland/NEO area. Friend dropped it and its slightly smaller brother off earlier today. I have someone looking a bike sized like the other frame. It uses a normal seat post and binder bolt, so no quill seat post headaches that reading the word Kabuki might do with a CV bike geek.

I just took apart a late 70's Schwinn Collegiate. I have the working 5 speed derailer, shifter, and a set of rims for it. They are either S5 or S6 rims. They need tires but other than that everything is in great shape. Free for shipping cost.

Not trying to be a killjoy or anything (because I think this is a gracious and wonderful idea) but I noticed something about the pay-it-forward thread...
When I offered the two items I did above I got a couple of PMs asking for both items nearly immediately. That seemed rather odd so I looked at the post history for a couple of those respondents and it seems that there's a few members who request lots of items...outside the spirit of the thread and the original intent as outlined by miamijim on the first page IMHO. So while there may come a time that I see something here that I can really use, and may request it...know that my paying-it-forward goes on privately as I read threads where folks can perhaps use what I have to give. And personally, I don't think there's anything wrong with the recipient offering to pay for shipping, or the gifter asking for the cost of shipping. Let's face it, most of what's offered here is probably gained through take-offs, donor bikes, swaps, what have you such that there's generally not a specific monetary outlay for the item. The item is the gift, the shipping cost is simply transmission of the gift. Yeah, I know, Santa doesn't ask for shipping... :) |
