Peugeot catalogs needed!!!
Tom Simmons (twsindypa) www.retropeugeot.com and myself www.cyclespeugeot.com are in need of Peugeot ctalogs.
To complete the U.S. collection we are seeking full color scans of the 1975, '76, '79, '80, '88, and '89 catalogs. Once these catalogs/scans are acquired the complete U.S. model line will be covered from ~1970 through Peugeots last year in the U.S. 1989.
While we are seeking scans I'm also looking to purchase hardcopies of those same catalogs. As a side project I'm trying to complete a worldwide collection of hardcopies.
If you have, or know anyone that has copies of thses catalogs please PM Tom or myself.
As a side note there have been updates to my www.cyclespeugeot.com website. Updates have been made to the following pages:
Model ID: Includes thumbnails to ID 80's models
Catalogs: Organized by 'periods'/decades Not all available catalogs are listed!!
Threading: Covers all unique aspects of Peugeots
Thanks for the help,
Jim

Bikes: 1959 Capo Modell Campagnolo; 1960 Capo Sieger (2); 1962 Carlton Franco Suisse; 1970 Peugeot UO-8; 1982 Bianchi Campione d'Italia; 1988 Schwinn Project KOM-10;
To pick a nit, Jim:
"Reynolds has documentation of Peugeot using metric
(French thread) tubing in 1980 while using imperial (Swiss and British thread) and metric tubing in 1981."
should read:
"Reynolds has documentation of Peugeot using metric
(French and Swiss thread) tubing in 1980 while using imperial (British thread) and metric tubing in 1981."
i.e., Swiss is, of course, metric, not Imperial (which should probably be capitalized).

I appreciate the contructive criticism. I added the thread info myself because we all know that a combination of French and Swiss was used in the early 80's on Reynolds (and other tubed) equipted bikes as well as French only.
Here's a copy of the e-mail I recieved from Reynolds.
Jim
it's a guess, but I would say metric until early 1980's then change to imperial.
The whole range was revamped in 1981 so it could have changed then,
I have 1978 UK lit with metric & imperial
I have 1981 UK lit with only imperial
I have 1980 French lit with metric.
In the 1970's there was only France, Spain and Switzerland that used metric tubes. All others used imperial as today, but refer to it as metric measure, ie 1" = 25.4 etc
These 3 all changed to imperial as the supply on metric lugs dried up. (pre TIG welded frames)
