Great. Most of us have to go to the dump and take our chances. Ohiomotoexer just has to walk up to his attic.

And for what good reason has this beauty been unceremoniously languishing in the attic for 10 years. Sounds like pure neglect send it to me on the double and you won't be reported to the C+V punishment commitee

Those aluminum lugs remind me of ALAN frames. Any relation?

Yup, pretty sure they're made by Alan.

I think those early aluminum frames were sold as numerous brands.

Alan and Vitus are two different companies AFAIK. Vitus frames are totally different manufacturer from Alan.

I have seen several references to the Guerciotti's aluminum frames being rebadged Alans, but whether that is fact or speculation is open to conjecture. They certainly appear to use the same lugs and the fact that they are both Italian certainly strengthens the probability. However, if these frames are indeed made by Alan, they do not appear to be rebadged Alan Super Records. I recall reading that the Guerrciotti's Record frames used a standard 27.2mm seatpost versus the 25.0mm posts that were used on the Alan Super Record. This implies the use of stronger alloys and/or slightly oversize tubes.

the Guerciotti's were produced by AlAn and I even recall the AlAn logo prominently dislayed on the back page of their late 70's sales brochures and iirc, featured a picture of Paolo himself racing on one of the cyclocross models wearing a jersey with Guerciotti/AlAn embroidery.

Thanks everyone for all the info.

I spent a good time this past weekend cleaning her up. I will snap another pic and poist it.

I parked her because I had a lower back injury.
Luckily, my shop attic is fairly temperature controlled and dry, not a spec of rust or uglyness on the whole bike !!
