JRestore decals
I had him make me a set of Super Champion wheels stickers and they look great! The originals overlapped the eyelets just a bit, so I had him make them slightly undersized and that was no problem for him. They cost me $5.90, including postage
Before ordering a whole bikes's worth of decals, I placed a small order so I could see the quality of his work and how he does business. He passed that test with flying colors. I'm going to have him make a full set for my Gitane next.
Diclaimer:
I did the same thing with that other decal guy, so it's no guarantee.

I've not seen any JR's decals (mine are all at Dr.Deltron's paint shop), but I've delt with him via email and I can confirm your assesment. Besides, Dr.D is a stickler for decals and he wouldn't use JR if he was not good!

That's life....
C'est la vie, as the French say.
"Guarantees" aside, I think JR does decals the way I do paint...... very carefully.
I feel bad that he has "the other guy" as a predecessor.
The main difference is that JR actually MAKES the decals!
"The other guy" just did the vector art & then farmed out the printing.
He ended up robbing Peter to PayPaul!
JR IS THE DECAL GUY NOW!!!!
IMHO anyway.
As always,...YMMV.

It may take a while for him to get back to you and longer for the decals to be done, but I have heard he does great work. That said, I have been waiting for months with no replies after several emails. I've given up on him and moved on.

I have been pleased with the decals I bought from JR. I'll certainly buy more as the need arises.

I would love to buy some decals from JR...but...he disappeared right after he said he was ready to post my Pinarello set to his website. Never posted...never heard from him again!

The same thing happened to me a while back. He did eventually (several months) get back in touch with me and apologized for the delay. Due to the delay, he gave me everything for free. I sent him a paypal payment anyway because I was very pleased with the decals, but that was my choice.

All of the Gitane decals are now available from Greg Softly. He conducts his business in a very professional manner and responds quickly to emails. Even though he's in Australia, the decals will be here in a week or less.
I don't know what JR's problem is, but don't need the frustration.

I just got a set of custom color downtube decals for my Trek 770 from JR.
Took about a week for me to get them. The decals are first class, and his
instruction set is very thorough. The decals look fantastic on the bike.

The one caveat I have is when he recommends using the wet application, take his
advice, the glue on the decal is very aggressive so unless your placement is perfect
repositioning on a dry application is going to be difficult.
I would definitely use JR again.

There's always H Lloyd. I hardly ever see them mentioned anywhere? I happened to find them one day when looking for Viscount decals.,,,,BD

Seems the verdict is about 50/50. +1 that he can be very slow to reply or not reply at all; +1 on the quality of his work, it's top-notch and I've used them on four vintage Trek restorations to date.

Sounds like if you need a whole new set made then it might take a while(understandable), although he should keep you updated on the progress. Otherwise, it seems that those sets available on the site have been high quality and shipped in a reasonable amount of time. I'll update this thread with my experience once these Bianchi decals come in.

I sent JR photos of my g/f's Sports, as there isn't a place that actually stocks the decals (no, H Lloyd doesn't, nor does cyclomondo - another guy I messaged, but haven't heard back from). Two months later, I still haven't heard that he's even received the email.

Greg is OK about email until you start asking questions or want to change small details...and then...nothing.
Damn...I just want to order a Pinarello sticker set in white that looks like the bulgier 1989 catalog scans...that's it!
Oh well...
