Coming soon:

A 1971-ish Stainless Steel Crescent Mark XX, in Record and Nuovo Record.

Just sayin' - keep an eye out...

East Hill is a perceptive lass.

Yogurt 02-06-08 08:12 PM

Crescents are my favorite! FAVORITE! I don't even own one. (Yet...might be working something out for a 62cm frame.) I am dying to see it!!!

sonatageek 02-07-08 06:20 AM

Okay, so Stainless Steel and Crescent, which I assume is some sort of fancy cookware for making delicious hot tasty crescent rolls, right?;)

Yogurt 02-07-08 08:55 AM

I'm awake now and no pictures! I want to see some Swedish stainless steel!

lotek 02-07-08 09:11 AM

No thread about Crescent is complete without at least one obligatory post
about the crescent girl. It should be noted that she made an appearance at
the Dallas area Meet n' Greet of the CR listmeister a few weeks ago. Ya'll shoulda
been there (insert grin thingy here).

I can't wait to see pictures.

Here's the stainless steel Crescent ad on Classic Rendezvous.

truman 02-08-08 11:32 AM

Aye, and that ad's all I've seen, too.

The bike is my uncle's. He bought it new when he owned an LBS in Corpus Christi, TX, and it's been a regular rider since then, but up in NorCal, now. He doesn't recall the "Mark" number, but according to the Crescent ad, I'm getting a Mark XX, based on Uncle's description of the components.

It oughtta be my size or a half a hair small. He's giving it to me because his dodgy hip (he's in his 70's) won't let him ride anymore. When I was telling him about the Soldier Ride we're doing, he said he was gonna send it to me, since my only road bike, a tourer, is so heavy. And because I deserved a ride that nice.

He almost made me come up to Eureka, CA from Ft Worth, TX to get it myself, but relented when I wept openly.

He's had it converted to 700c wheels and he says the paint on the lugs needs touching up - and that's all I really know. I'm just waiting on Brown Santa to bring it home.

I'm sure glad to see people here excited to see it, too - makes it more fun, somehow. That and my older brother's blistering jealousy.

I hope you aren't implying, gasp, Corky II: Return of the Brown Menace.

Truman, if it hasn't shipped yet, I would strongly suggest FedEx. :)

I should of told you that at lunch yesterday...

I've determined he's apparently in Texas. Fort Worth, from the looks of it.

Darn! Cuda is in Portland right now. I think lotek might be there as well. Perhaps we can get jsharr on his track?
