Peugeot Spindle

I have a Peugeot lower end mixte that I would like to replace the cranks on. It is currently cottered. Would I be able to save the french threaded cups and insert a square taper spindle to acheive this or am I WAY off?

If you can find a #7 Spindle it should work with your old cups.

Thinking that a Sugino #5 (70mm) is what is needed... a #7 is what I need for my Phillips Twenty folder.

I converted my '62 with a #5 spindle.

I put a #5 in a Raleigh BB, And I put Sugino cups in my UO-8, so I could run a #3.

I stand corrected!

Haha, now I'm confused. So a number three spindle like the ones at harris cyclery. I plan to reuse the cups that are currently on the bike if possible.

Sugino #5 is what you want (or a match) and the folks at Harris should know this as well.
