Tribute to C & V
It's the first relaxed Saturday I've had in a long time. I just finished putting together the Trek 760 that Dr. Deltron painted, and posted pictures in between checking the progress on the eBay sale of the bicycle it replaces - a Bob Jackson that jgedwa tipped me off to about this time last year. Sooooooo I had just started the Brooks DVD that I received yesterday from Major A, so that I can get it off to Little Darwin early next week, when I heard the mail being delivered. I went outside and found that my Free Corky t-shirt had arrived.
Over the few years I've been here, there have been plenty of other things to be thankful for, but the confluence of events today was just too much to let pass without comment. I'd like to thank everyone who helps to make this such a great virtual community. Hopefully I'll be able to meet a few more of you this year. Cheers, Z |
+1 You just made me think of all the projects that I couldn't have gotten done, or least not nearly as easily if it weren't for the C&V'ers. Add to that the hours of joy and stimulation that I get here every week, listening, helping when I can, and gawking the rest of the time. I hope that I get to meet as many of you as possible (1 down so far).
CHEERS! |
Where else but C & V can one have so much fun legally?
And, enjoy legal, work- and spouse-safe porn :D ? East Hill |
everyone here has been of so much help and so generous, i feel like i am always asking the questions and hope that soon i can be the one to answer more. i only wished i had joined here sooner!

This section of the forum is my favorite. Lots of help and no attitude. Oh yeah and thanks to E.H. lots of pictures, we are after all a very visual oriented bunch. We just gotta see it and then steal ideas :D

Yeah, this is (by far) the best forum here. Virtually zero adolescent behavior like on the other forums (and you know which ones I'm talking about). There is no battering or chastising of anyone here and the almost endless wealth of information from bike riders who really know is what attracts me to it. Without getting all teary eyed, and gooshy sounding, all of us getting into a group hug and wailing into the night, I live for C & V. :D |
When I first started cruising BikeForums it was because I'd bought an old Peugeot U0-10. I rarely stray from C&V and Bike Mechanics where everyone is really friendly and helpful. I've never been on a message board with so little in the way of flaming.

I have been on lots of other boards where flaming is the norm.
It's so....so....different here! :D |
To all C&V'ers:
|
I just got my Free Corky tshirts today too...
This is a great forum. |
I couldn't agree more!
Thank you all for your help, kindness, and patience. RFC |
Im practically useless when it comes to giving advice on C n V bikes as I dont know to much about them, but I do enjoy the info/replies I get from the good people here, and the friends that Ive made here are the cats pajamas! :D thats a lot coming from a guy with so little friends as I have! I can count them on one hand! better to have a few true friends than a million phoney frinds ;) I think this is the best.....EVER!
|
You guys rock, though the road forum/racing forum are helpful as well. I really like C&V and mechanics though.
I'm going to have to start spending less time on BF. I'm on here entirely too much when I should be riding and studying instead... |
You all are responsible for my C/V sickness! so I hoist a cold one to you all!
I dont want to be cured.... |

My girlfriend took her maiden voyage on her new (as new as it gets on this forum) bike and the left crank arm stayed firmly attached. You can add that to the Cosmic convergence.
Thanks! |

C & V is the only forum that I will tell someone else about. If they are seeking advice, I will say to "check BikeForums, but just the Classic and Vintage section".
I lurk more now than I used to, but that's only because everyone here knows more than I do :) |
I really like the idea of everyone being honest to each other.. It's hard to fake that..Thanks for all the education and all that will come in the future..Because of this forum I'm not really afraid of taking on any mechanical challenge I may be faced with on my bikes..The only problem that has come out of this is that all of my co-workers,friends,& family know that I can fix their bikes if they have a problem. And I spend way too much time searching thrift stores for the next find..All good harmless problems to have..
