The Casati rides again!

...almost.

New plans for the build include Simplex Retrofriction shifters, Specialites TA track pedals, and Campy Record hubs to Omega Strada Hardox rims. A repaint will be in order, but not for a little while. Gears, here I come again!

No, my friend Josh Muir of Frances Cycles (he was the one with the great cable-steer cargo bike at NAHBS) is doing all the work. He also gets photo credit.

Update: Josh had to replace the top head lug with a Prugnat (I think). Looks fine, but I need to figure out what to do with that window...

Full build will be done by next weekend when I'm back in Santa Cruz.

I actually like the window up top/no window on bottom look. Nice to be able to resurrect a bike like that.

Bikes: Bates (of Coburg) track bike(60s/70s?), Malvern Star Ladies coronation (1953), SuperElliots pathracer (60s?), Repco pathracer (1964), Holland Ladies (50s?), Moa (50s?), Hillman Ladies (40s?), Batavia? (40s?), Malvern Star 2 star ladies (50s?)...etc.

WTF? What happened to it?

Anyway, glad to hear it's on the road to recovery!

cyclotoine - I'd like to re-paint it the purple that it was when it came to me, but I found a set of orange decals and may change my mind if I get them. For now, she'll be naked steel.

tricky - Definitely nice to have this bike (almost) back on the team.

Wotan - It turns out there was a slight crack when I bought it (not sure what caused that) that was too small to really notice as a crack. As I rode it (I did a lot with this bike, including some singletrack...oops), it just spread.
