Old School Crank

Hey all, so I'm new to the forum and I've been searching a bit for an answer to my question, but haven't had any success. So...bear with me. How do I remove the crank (and bottom bracket) from a 1974 Schwinn Collegiate? See the picture. This is my first time working with a "classic" bike so I've been learning as I go. Thanks for your help in advance.

Remove left pedal, and working from the same left side of the BB take that nut you see off, a washer should be behind that, take it off, and unthread the cone nut, remove bearing, and the whole thing should exit through the right of the bb together (remove chainguard!).

I also believe that left side lock nut and cone is left-hand threaded: turn clockwise to loosen.
